Install RomRaider on Windows 7 64bit?

I can't seem to get it to install... the .exe installer just sort of "sits there" after hitting NEXT.

I've tried the zip distribution and I put the new xml definitions in but it won't connect to the tactrix cable...

I'm kind of lost here.... any ideas?

And yes I am using Run as Admin....

Re: Install RomRaider on Windows 7 64bit?

Well I got it to work... I should have tried WinXP SP2... I tried SP3 and no luck.

Anyway I figured it probably had something to do with trying to install it on 64-bit Java when it's a 32-bit program. So I uninstalled my 64-bit Java as a test, and it installed just fine.

Was able to connect to the ECU and read values in Logger. Didn't actually take any logs yet because I didn't remember off hand in the car what parameters to log.

Re: Install RomRaider on Windows 7 64bit?

I just moved up to windows 7 64 bit and had no issues.
I did decide to take all my tuning files out of the program files folder. Now I don't need to worry about Run as admin to save my profiles or ecu or logger definitions. It is very nice. Although maybe not applicable to most I can now easily edit rom and logger definitions without having to save to a different location and move the file. It's very nice to have things figured out the next time around.

I'll check that out. I don't remember any more, but I have it running on my machine.

Re: Install RomRaider on Windows 7 64bit?

I have never been able to get RomRaider to run smooth on my laptop with Windows 7. Every time I get high into the RPM's when datalogging the program freezes... I eventually gave up and started borrowing my brothers older laptop. Definitely a very annoying problem for me..

Well I am desperately trying to make my PLX SM-AFR work with RomRaider logger, but no luck, so I was doing it all again to make sure I have it all right. Hopefully I'll get it to work soon.

I had the same problem, if you put a micro sd card in the op2 and log to the card, it won't lock up. And you don't need a cable or laptop to get tangled up in.
