    Rear brembo's on 08 WRX

Here is info on how to mount rear 08/09 STi Brembo's on 08/09 WRX.
This is my own interpretation on how to do this. I will not be liable for any losses or damages: attempt at your own risk!.

    Parts used:
2 rear 09 STi calipers w/ STI mounting bolts (Stock WRX caliper knuckle bolts are wrong thread and wont work)

2 rear 04 STi power-slotted rotors were used. I got them cheep, thats why I used them. (regular STi Brembo rotors should work)

When I mocked up the rear brakes I found 3 issues:
First the rotors splash shield was hitting the back (inside surface) of the rotor. The fix I used was to cutting reliefs in the shield. This allowed me to bend it back.

Second issue is a lip for the e-brake on the rotor. It protrudes past the inside surface of the rotor. It was contacting the backing plate on the knuckle. This was stopping the rotor from fully seating on the hub. The fix was to lathe off the metal lip about .150

Third and final problem was the caliper was not centered over the rotor. It was about .165 outward. The fix was to fly cut the boss's on the caliper .165 to center the caliper body over the rotor. You could cut the bosses on the knuckles, but then you would have to use shims if you ever went back to stock. Now for the pic's, I did paint the calipers silver with black logos.

I think the WRX never came with factory Brembo's. They did offer FHI (Subaru) 4 Pot 2 Pot calipers. I think there are write-ups on nasioc about 02-06 WRX fitment. I think you would run into issues with the rears. The parking brake diameter on the 08/09 is different then the 02/07 WRX. Maybe rotor off-set and boss mounting location. Also I think you would only gain pedal feel going with the FHI setup. I think they are smaller then the 08/09 brakes, again check over at nasioc.
