no your warranty cant be voided. if you are really worried keep all receipts of maintenence parts. make a username on mysubaru.com. you can log in and keep track of all oil changes etc. as far as mobil 1 alot of people on nasioc dont seem to like it and say our cars consume it more than other oils. i personally use castrol syntec 5w30. as far a synthetic, subaru came out with a bulletin that states 2011 and newer turbo cars are required to use synthetic oil. previous years are recomended to use it. i would also use subaru oem oil filters. they have the proper psi bypass valve for cold starts. i hope this helps.

Castrol Syntec and Rotella T seem to be well suited in our cars. I run it in my jeep as well as my wrx. Just had an oil analysis for the Jeep after 5k on castrol and it came out with plenty of life left in it going to try 7500 next. In about 1k miles I will get an analysis done on the wrx so I will let you know how it turns out.

I use mobile 1 synthetic without any problems. I use it in my wrx and also used it in my 08 2.5i. I have a hard time believing its bad for our cars when that's the oil subaru uses when you ask for a full synthetic oil change. If you want something a little better, royal purple is the way to go.

Motul, Rotella, Amsoil...there's a lot of good stuff out there. Mobil 1 has been known to burn off/shear heavily in our cars.

+1 for Castrol Syntech & Subaru filters. I get my filters by the 6-pack from Fred Beans.
