for what? this is about tranny diff oil swap. there is no manual tranny filter. as far as motor oil, ive never heard of a honda oil filter working on a subaru to date.

Why risk smoking your engine over a $6 oil filter? And what does this have to do with a tranny/diff fluid change?
What's the relief valve opening pressure on the Honda filter vs. the OEM one? If they're the same, you may be safe. If not, it's probably not a good idea to experiment with something so vital to the longevity of your engine.

The Honda oil filter fits 08-13 wrx/sti. I don't know about other subaru models. I been using honda oil filter since 09. The reason I used it because I work at Honda so it's free.

Honestly that's even worse logic to use that oil filter, if your engine craters because of a free filter then your out of pocket at least 5k. Use at least oem subaru filters or subaru aftermarket ones...

Agree about not using something just because it's free. Also thanks for the info on accessing the front diff fluid and using the clear tube that will make things a little easier.
