First time owner of a WRX of any kind and I jumped in head first and got a 02 WRX Impreza. I knew she would need some work but she is breaking down all over on me. Started with Blowing the SBF#5 fuse got the MAF wires fixed twice! also had the battery terminals replaced because it was having power draining issues. had the air conditioning done which does not work since MAF was fixed?
After getting her back she broke down again after about 120 miles. Checked MAF and the wires look good. not burnt or disconnected. Still blowing the SBF#5 fuse and now having trouble getting her to even turn over. HELP! 3 shops and no one knows!

Where are you located? You need to get a wiring diagram of the vehicle. Do you know what is on that fuse meaning what circuit the fuse powers? For example if the fuse powered the head lamps if the fuse was blown you would have not lights when you turned the switch on. If the fuse blows when it’s plugged in it is for sure a short circuit. Most of the time it is a pinched wire some place. It could also be a short in a motor like a window motor or wiper motor. If it’s a short to ground use a digital Ohm Volt meter. When using the Ohm side of the meter see if you have continuity to ground if you do keep on Isolating the circuit down. I hope this helps some. The best way to start is get your hands on a wiring diagram for your year make and model of your car. This will help you to know what this fuse feeds.
