Check Engine light for Catalytic Converter

Hey names Mike, I just bought a used 2015 wrx limited 2.0L and i now have a check engine light on, so I took it to Auto Zone to get a read in it and when they plugged it up they didn’t give me an exact number they just said it was my cat converter.. I only have 78,000 miles on it. An auto shop told me by some law their is a eight n eighty warranty that covers all calls below the 80k mile range, is that a thing? And also is it really the cat converter or could it be an O2 sensor or leaking exhaust? Thanks in advance for any help I’m new to the subie world.

If you can get an AP, it will be more specific to what codes are being thrown.
08WRX, TP Stage2, "Thou shalt not go stage 2 if thou hasn't installedeth a downpipe, unless thy wantest a checketh engine light. Lo, thou who installedeth a downpipe and has not tunedeth to stage 2 shall face thine engine's wrath, for thy dash shall become illuminated and proclaim "Hark, thou hast slain me", so sayeth the ECU."
