Re: Avaliable Mods for 2008 Impreza and WRX engine mods

Would not most of the engine mods for the existing 2.5 and 2.5 turbo engine work with the '08?

Here is a list that I complied with different websites that have stuff for the new subie:

www.rallitek.com

www.ultimate-racing.com

www.perrinperformance.com - most of the legacy stuff works for the new subie

www.scoobytuner.com

www.vividracing.com - they have a lot of suspension stuff

www.oakos.com

www.eliteautosport.net

This is what I have found thus far, and they update their sites frequently. Also, ultimate-racing is on ebay, and I got a pretty good deal on some stuff from them with best offer. Check it out.

Check out Rallitek.com under their 2008 Impreza section. They have some stuff there. The only real way to get power out of an NA is exhaust and Engine Internals, also reducing weight would help you notice the car moving faster.

I just found a local company, Well Local to the San Francisco Bay Area:

www.licmotorsports.com

Looks like a good outfit. A tuner I have been talking with told me about them... Talk around the water cooler is they will have a TBE for the Sedan in about 3 months

Is it a good idea to buy a CAI as my first mod? Do I need to do any other mods if i just want a CAI? Will it be a good upgrade?

I dont know too much about performance so some one please help me. thanks

I would recommend doing the intake last. If anything just do a drop in filter, AVO makes a pretty good one. You can get it at Rallitek.com. But, I would recommend doing a downpipe for the most bang for your buck it will do nicely.

A CAI (followed by a less restrictive cat back), is a good start for an N/A car as they do not need to be tuned like the turbo models. You will see more power at higher rpms, but be wary of cheap intakes, as they are often sized improperly and can disrupt the airflow over the maf. :p
