Is it a good idea to buy a CAI as my first mod? Do I need to do any other mods if i just want a CAI? Will it be a good upgrade?

I dont know too much about performance so some one please help me. thanks
the usual tuning step here in Japan would be (at least for turbochargers):

1. air filter (CAI)
2. muffler w/center pipe
3. gauges
4. boost controller
5. ECU tune (if possible, something to remove the speed limiter on JDMs)
6. suspension (or a turbine change)

TurboXS has a CAI now. The description suggests that it's engineered not to require any tuning. Not sure about that, but thought I'd post it here.

Don't get CAI without tune please. I have been to the testings here in CA. AEM, Injen, K&N 30+whp gain w/o tune is due to boost increases of almost 2 psi and AFRs in the mid 12, low 13 range. You will not see these gains. If your car is tuned, then you slap on a CAI the expected gain is 3-5 whp. They can say ok w/o tune because the legal loophole is that if you do nothing else to the car it will be ok. verify, the only people who show boost in the dynos is Ultimate Racing and Perrin. Note that the boost comes up about 1.5 psi, more in some places. AFRs are posted with Perrin. "car breathes easier, hence more boost... a little more boost, a little leaner... about 12.7"-- on CAI w/o tune from Perrin website
