You could just take it somewhere to get tuned. I think the AP option is better though because it allows you to return your car to a stock map and most of the vendors out there will provide you updates down the road.
There's a few threads here about the AVO intakes. According to Sean at Rallitek, the thing is pretty much useless until you start really building your motor. You're better off putting that money towards a TBE and an AP at this point.
