Does anyone know if our trannys are the same as previous year WRX's. I was looking into getting a nice gear set and forks.
I think that i will be needing a better clutch/flywheel down the road too.

fyi, my car is fine. nothing is broke.

ok, i just found some gear ratios.
2008 gear ratios- 1st 3.166, 2nd 1.882, 3rd 1.296, 4th 0.972, 5th 0.738, final 3.900
2007 gear ratios- 1st 3.454, 2nd 2.062, 3rd 1.448, 4th 0.88, 5th 0.78, final 3.0

now all i need to know is if aftermarket 2007 gear sets will work with 2008 trannys.

i will keep looking.

Why not just pick up an STI 6 speed trans? I think that might be a better option. Check eBay. But as far as I know it is the same trans.

i would just rather have a strong set of gears, syncros, and forks than spend money on another stock tranny.

Well the STI tranny is strong then the stock WRX tranny. Plus if you get one cheap enough then you could still built it to be a monster trans.

are you already planning ahead for tranny damage with the power you are putting out?

google andrewtech automotive and there ppg gears. they are unbreakable, the only sets that have broke are due to install error. 1-4 straight cut . they wine like crazy but there sick, about 5k for a full tranny rebuild though
