I have a question about the ECO function (green button on center consol). I can gather that it reduces fuel consumption and horsepower in the process and that it doesn't apply once rev's go over 3500 or so (turns itself off?) but I was wondering if driving with it on had some kind of effect in overall ECU behavior?

Does driving too much with this function on "tame" your car?

I will probably get an AP when the car is broken in I suppose, so does it essentially become a moot point from there either way?

wow i didn't know the STI had such a cool function.

Doesn't the manual say something about it?

I didn't know it didn't come on WRX's - btw not STI, S-GT that I have - I could have sworn I saw it on interior shots of WRX's on this site. I don't think it's a cool function really, but I think it does save gas a bit in city driving maybe? I can't read the manual because it's all in Japanese and I can speak it OK but can't read a thing... I'll look for answers over here at the dealer - thanks anyway!
