so i finally recieved my tail light kit from Harman Motive and couldnt wait to begin the install.

I did the reflectors first and then moved on to the actual tail lights.

The piece that covers the right side on the hatch went on w/o issues.

Next was the curved outer area. That caused all kinds of problems and failed hard :(

so i ripped off both pieces on the right side and called it a day.

is there a trick to doing this? and tips would be great.

Did you use a heat gun?

When you use a heat gun, be gradual and gentle. Too much heat too fast can cause film to bubble or pucker really bad. Make sure you have plenty of water solution between the film and the taillight, you can squeegee it out later.

Heat gun, squeegee, soapy water are your best friends for this install.

Just go slow and start from the insides of the light out.

Did their over lays come with directions?

lots of gradual heating. maybe another set of hands could help to warm up the tint while you stretch the crap out of it. use the squeege on warm film after you stretch it to approptiate size. and be careful with the soapy water, you do not want to get too much of it on the lens/tint, it could make the process harder.
