cut out the center waffle, brushed the chrome, clearcoated, added mesh (Leaf Guard), viola!
I didn't take the bumper off or lift it, just removed the 2nd set of snap plugs behind the grille and weaseled my skinny hands in there.
I wanted something different and was feeling too cheap to buy the sport or STI so after 3 hours...
I need to refine some of the details and paint the inner grille surround that's body colored with some satin black
I'll post in DIY eventually
Leather seats are Medium Red by Katzkin / AutoTrim Design in Seattle, they also did the tint. The red is more mellow, not bright in person.
Pink springs are in the garage, looking for the right wheels now...

Wow that looks awesome. I was looking at leatherseats.com the other day. Anybody ever used them? You can get 2-tone perforated leather seats with colored double stiching for $800. You gotta install it yourself but that's pretty easy. Wondering what the quality is like.

I found that quality leather in aftermarket is hard to find unless you go custom ($$$) or with a reputable company like Katzkin. Get a leather sample or the best is to see the seat in person. I saw somethingt hat looked very similar to what Wicked installed, it had a heavily corrected grain that did not have the 'softness/hand' I was looking for, but it had a nice taught fit that I like. For me the payoff was with the softer leather. And the install isn't quite as easy as they make it seem. I have recovered seats before, and it is simple, but not easy to do right. I found a Katzkin set online for less than $700 -u-install. Best of luck finding what you're looking for - It seems there is always a trade off with this kind of thing.

Sorry, am I reading this correctly - to remove the waffle/grid, you only needed to snap it out of there? I am very interested in getting that grd out and doing something along these lines, and same as you but maybe for different reasons I am not interested in the Sport version, and I Subaru over here won't let me buy STi badges or grilles etc unless I own an STi and only from that year...

I'd appreciate additional details about how you did it if you could...

Nice seats by the way!

I'll post pics in custom/DIY shortly, but my understanding is the NA grille assembly is different. I had to cut out the waffle portion - it's a 3 piece deal.

Nice seats by the way!
