Just got my TMIC today 11/6/08















Installed the TMIC today. This is just a quick write up I'll update this later on.

Remove the BOV Bolts 2 Bolts



Reomve the long metal bracket on the right of the car. 3 bolts




Remove the the bolts from the Turbo side. 2 bolts



Use a flat head screwdiver to loose up the hole clap on the right hand side on the Turbo.

Perrin TMIC installed.

Due to fact that the 09 IC is same size. :p

man thats cheap, they cost more than that used. I might have to talk with the wife.

that is so tempting.... but the stupid CAN$$ just lost 20% since a month... so its kinda of killing the deal :(

Do we know for sure it's bigger? Still with plastic end caps tho.
Pretty sure they upgraded this (read it somewhere)
Power upgrades from the turbo, ic, and freer flowing cat than the WRX. plastic not necessarily a weakness is it? considering it actually maintains temp better.

Plastic does not dissipate heat better but it will resist heat better. I guess the end caps wouldn't be the weakness if you don't crank up the boost. I’m not sure when they would blow out.

Some one with a 09 go out and measure your oem TMIC core.

Realistically, what kind of hp gains can you get with a TMIC and an 18G?

Mine was $506 and change... Oregon to Norcal isn't far. Hopefully it'll show up tomorrow.

Somebody asked about power increase with an 18G and the Perrin TMIC... I'd say a LOT. Especially since the VF40 I just bought (used) will be here this week, and I hope to find a shop to mod it to an 18G. With that done, I'm hoping for 320-330 whp (or more) with a good tune and my current mods... though I will probably go ahead and do a new fuel pump and injectors too.

Hey rob you're doing the same mods I am. I think you might be farther ahead than I though. I have the VF40 and I just ordered a FMIC core. I am ordering the Intake, Injectors and Pump this week as well. I just need to install it all and find the FMIC piping as well. I would like to know what your final numbers are once you get that all on there.

Hey, where are you getting your pump and injectors from, and how much? I will probably order mine very soon. My biggest concern, though, is I don't want a noisy fuel pump.

I'll definitely post numbers once I have some... though it may be a while.

I couldn't do a FMIC because I want to put a towbar on the car to tow behind my 5th wheel RV; otherwise I'd probably be going that route too.

I'm going with the 750CC injectors and the 255LPH pump. I think total they will be $480 plus shipping. I also need to do the 18g conversion as well. I should ask locally to see how much it would cost, otherwise I will be calling Blouch to do it. It will be nice to finally get all that stuff on and see what she runs. Can't wait..................well yeah I can!

Hahaha quoting myself. Kw refers to the energy and heat transfer rates and can be due to different materials composition, fin count, etc. Although the IC dimensions may be the same, their cooling capacities can be very different. Does anyone know if this is the case when they referenced increased capacity? I am just wondering because the dimensiona are the same. The perrin units may have the same heat dissipation rates compared to the 09 in this regard.

I need to look this up again but Bar and plate intercooler are better.

Conventional intercooler cores are thin-walled, extruded aluminum tubes that are not designed to handle extreme boost pressures, and limit cooling performance because of their narrow width.
