I can definitely vouch for Spearco's quality, I ran their intercooler in my diesel; definitely a quality piece that lasted through tons of boost. If I wasn't stuck with the fmic, I would definitely get on this buy.
First off, yes, we're going to need a donor car as soon as possible who can go out to their facility in Simi Valley, CALIFORNIA. They'll take you within the week and get cracking. And, yes, they will work out a discount with the donor.
Their design will be for the factory turbo (13T/VF52), fitting WRXs from 2008-2011 (please let me know if there are any differences in the newer models I should be aware of). As for ducting, it will be determined whether utilizing the factory ducting with their design will be sufficient, otherwise an alternative will be produced. Once a design and a solid mock-up come together, and as soon as they have all the necessary parts on-hand, the ETA of the final product will not be far off. Reggie has explained that, at that point, finished intercoolers will be off to us in 'weeks' (however, as we all know with fabrication, ETAs can never be considered concrete).
Once they have the donor car, having looked it over and given me more tangible information, a 50% deposit will be required of all those wanting to be involved. Once the intercoolers have been completed, the final 50% will be accounted for before shipping out. This group buy will be done as one batch, no scheduled/tiered shipping -- no line to wait in.
Please, if you guys have any more specific questions, I will answer them or pass them along. Any specific concerns, suggestions or desires (don't be coy :-* ), I am all ears. For instance, I would like my Beatrush strut brace, specifically to fit with the design, so if anyone in the area has that brace, please let me know.
So, yeah, this is moving forward, so let's make it happen! Let the locals know, pass on your questions and answers and let's not have this turn into a shit storm!
