According to my calculations, that size would read about 1.3% slow or 60 mph would show as 59.2 or so. 225/40r18 is just about a perfect match if you are worried about it.

yep, that's almost correct :) you'd actually be going 1.3% faster than your speedometer says (cuz the 235 has a bigger circumference than the 225 so each revolution you're going a bit further). so if your speedo says 60, you're actually going 60.8.

it's fine as im not looking to pull my fender.

it'll work. theres 225 on 18x9 same wheel(stretched)
