I purchased my '09 WRX Sedan with 18 inch rims and Nitto Invo's 225/40 ZR18 92W all around. Until I can afford to downsize back to 17's (possibly 15's since I am thinking of turning my car into a rally car), what do you think the proper warm (max 70 degrees F)/cold (min 25 degrees F) tire pressures are? I live in Seattle so wet weather is somewhat likely.

I am a Subbie noob but, I did do some searching. My searches on "tire pressure" and "18in tire pressure" drilled down 9-10 pages only to find info on hatchback STI's and TPMS.

Thanks in advance.

Uh....

If you look at the tires, they always give you the max that the tire can handle. (usually 50 max psi)
If you look in the door jams of any car it will give the best tire pressure to run that your suspension is designed for. (which in a WRX will be 33,32 psi)

I always just put the pressure regardless of tire size to the door jam specs. It may be the wrong way to do it but I couldn't see how tire width/size would make a difference.

I didn't say to run max.

So, unless you have aftermarket suspension....I'd run what the jams tell ya. If you have fancy aftermarket coil overs, I'd see what they recommend.

Uh.... These are 18inch tires.

I checked the door sill... And, since I can read, I know that in my particular 2009 WRX sedan, Subaru only lists 17inch tire pressures... Must have something to do with 09' WRX's coming stock with 17inch wheels.....

Uh... I doubt I should run anywhere near max psi. I have heard 10-25% below max but, I figured someone on here might have some [useful] wisdom they'd like to share with a noob (uh...I'm pretty sure I posted this in the noob section).

Well its obvious you are a noob since you have no respect for people that are trying to help. Generally you want to run the pressure that is recommended on your door jamb regardless of tire size. If you try that you can then make adjustments based on what kind of results you have. Tirerack.com has lots of articles explaining tire inflation.

And if you are still upset about those answers you could spend 30 seconds on Nitto's site and get the answer to your question! About Air Pressure

With the right amount of air pressure, your tires will perform better, wear longer and save fuel. The "right amount" of air pressure for the original equipment or same size tires is specified by the vehicle manufacturer and may be different for front and rear tires. Check with your Nitto dealer if the replacement tires on your vehicle are no longer the same size as the O.E. tires. http://www.nittotire.com/TireTechnology/ProperInflation#

So as it says contact them!

I'm also in Seattle.

It all depends on what you want and what your tires are. I'm currently running Continental DWS, which has insanely soft sidewalls so I run 40psi cold. on my Eagle GT I ran 34psi.
